I used to write a lot faster, too, and while I still can put out books at a pretty decent clip, I hate that I have slowed down. But like you I try to think it means I have grown as an author. I don't do drafts. I just do one draft, edit as I go, and then send it off. So I think this is probably a big factor in my increased time. Even so, I wish I was writing faster! And in the meanwhile so very glad my first single title (which was horrid) only took me about five years to write. It’s so hard not to compare ourselves to others, isn’t it? And fwiw, Lucinda, it takes me 6 mos to write a 90K Single Title. And no matter how hard I try, I can’t shake that 4th and final draft.

I *think* I’ve accepted that now. But then, I’m still on draft # 1 of my next book. LOL
