The Flutter

841711491I recently had my stomach flutter. It has been a long time since that occurred in the pit of my tummy.

A man grasped a hold of my hand and gently started to draw patterns into my palm with his fingertips. We sat outside talking and watching the fire before us flicker with other friends all around us.

I was surprised that this simple gesture caused such a moment and feeling. It seemed to me so much more intimate than a kiss on the lips would have been. Yet this man is not my lover or anything like that. He still somehow touched that intimate button in me and made me pause…to wonder, feel, slow down and enjoy.

I know life is filled with little intimate moments with friends, family, lovers and well strangers, so I am wondering what are some small intimate gestures that surprisingly touched you somehow?

Hope you are having a great June day.

Hugs and Kisses,
Lacy.

Hmmm. I don’t think I’ve had the stomach flutters for a long time sadly. Sheez. I need to get out more. Or maybe I have. Yeah I have to an extent. There are certain hugs and touches from some people that can still make me all warm inside.

    Shelli,
Is it a certain way they touch you? Or place? Or do you think it is the person themselves that causes the all warm inside feeling?

    Lacy.

I think it’s just when they touch me at all. It’s the person. Though I’m sure I have a hot button that everyone can touch and I’m all a flutter. LOL!

What a neat post, and yeah, I remember that feeling…still get it occasionally when my walls are down, when I’m not stressing over deadlines or the WIP or whatever. What’s nice is that it’s my long-time spouse (37 years and counting) who can still bring ‘em on. An unexpected touch, sometimes a shared laugh, maybe when we’re in a crowd and we catch each other for a quick glance…doesn’t have to require contact, just the knowledge we’ve shared something. Been sharing “somethings” for well over half of our lives!

    Ahhh…
    The Flutter…
That Rare Bird That Comes Out
    In The Most Unexpected Moments…
    It Is The Harbinger
    Of The New and Exciting….
    Nothing Seems To Represent
    Anticipation As Yummily
    As The Flutter…
It Is There When You Are With
    That Dreamy Someone…
And It is There When You
    Are Going To Speak
    To Your People…
    The Stage Brings It On…
    Performance Of Unexpected Love…
    Or Performance
    Of Anticipated Play…
    It Is Never Nervousness…
    But Often
    It Is Confused With It…

This winter I slipped and fell while I was getting out of my car. I passed out for a few moments. When I woke up there was a very chivalrous young man who was helping me sit up and asked me if I was ok. He checked my scalp for bruises, and I decided I was ok to drive home.
It was just a very tender, kind moment between strangers that restored my hope in humanity!
    Random acts of kindness!!

    Lovely post!
I’m in a fairly new relationship (8 months) and I still get flutters just thinking about him ,when he smiles at me, kisses me, touches my hand. I’m fluttering just writing about him now. :) I hope it never goes away.

Kate that is amazing!!! I guess that is true… your walls do need to be down in order for them to happen. Maybe I am coming out from behind my wall! It has been up for sometime now.

You have an fantastic man in your life and have for years… I long for that.

    Hugs,
    Lacy.

    Jayson,
Many people do confuse it with nerves… but to me it is a VERY different feeling it is more about intimacy and connection that about expectation etc.

    Hope you are well,
    Lacy.

 FYI, there are still days I could cheerfully throttle him, and I imagine it works both ways. Just so you know it’s not like that EVERY day!

    Marial,
    Eek! Sorry you fell.
But what better to wake up than to a young man fussing over you. I know these flutters happen in all sorts of circumstances and see even with strangers.

    Lacy.

    Eden,
You and your man are so cute!!! Just like Kate and her hubby. I bet your flutters will last…

I hope and long for them to happen on a daily basis.

    Fingers crossed.

    Lacy.

I as well love the stomach flutter. Mine did just last night. I was at a baseball game working and went up to the announcers box to talk with them. One of the guys I hired myself and had my eyes on him from the start. He grabbed my hand to see how cold they were. It was the electric shock that you guys talk about in the books. It was awesome. I see him again later today. I am looking forward to seeing if it happens again.
