I finally sat down today and started writing Wolf Tales 12. I’ve been thinking a lot about this one since it’s the final book in the current series, and I realized I couldn’t just start it at a point where Wolf Tales 11 leaves off. I decided to jump five years into the future so that I can show a lot of story lines resolved, but as I was getting set to write, I realized that in five years, there HAD to be more babies born! I mean, I left off WT11 with Tala’s twins and Lisa’s daughter’s birth (both are pregnant in Wolf Tales 10) and Keisha and Xandi both considering having more babies, and a few other characters pregnant, and I had a typical, author-like “OH SHIT!” moment.
That lasted about ten seconds before I sat down with my list of characters and figured out who would have babies in the ensuing five years, what sex they’d be, what their names and birthdays and ages were, and all the details that are required to turn imaginary characters into real living, breathing people. I had NO IDEA how much fun that would be, and I can’t wait for you to meet the rest of the next generation of Chanku…once I get them all written, of course! They’ll all be in Wolf Tales 12, along with, hopefully, the resolution to a lot of issues I’ve raised throughout the series. In fact, if you have any questions you want to see answered, I hope you’ll leave them in the comments section below. I really don’t want to risk missing anything!
I got the cover art for Wolf Tales 11 the other day, and as usual, it’s gorgeous! What do you think?
It’s got a different feel from the others–the color scheme is more along the lines of my DemonSlayers books. Not sure if that’s on purpose or just the current “color of the day” for bookcovers, but what I really love is the female model–she looks exactly the way I picture Liana, who has a fairly good role in WT10 and 11. Of course, the guy looks more like Logan Pierce than Adam Wolf, but I’ll take what I can get…and you KNOW how those Chanku are! I’m sure Liana and Logan have diddled at some point…
Wolf Tales 10 is out, and I’m hearing great things from readers. I was a bit worried about this one–killing off a character is frowned upon in romances, but as I told readers, this IS paranormal. Dead doesn’t necessarily mean gone… I can promise a few tears and a lot of smiles with this one, and you will never again hear the phrase, Louiseville Slugger, in quite the same way…
Anyway, that’s about all the news I’ve got for now. My editor assures me that, even though the series is ending with 12, there’s a good chance I’ll be able to bring it back at some point, so I’m tending to think of it more as if I’m just going on hiatus. You know…sort of like killing off characters in a paranormal romance–they might be dead, but they’re never really gone. And please, let me know what story lines you want to see settled. I really appreciate your input, and I’ve discovered that often my readers have much better memories than I do when it comes to the nitty-gritty about my books! I will be following up on those hieroglyphics that were discovered on the cavern walls in the cave beneath Anton’s Montana home (Wolf Tales VII) and telling you more about Lily and her amazing abilities. She’s definitely her father’s daughter! But remind me, if you will, of other things I need to remember. I’ll be picking a few names from those leaving comments to win a free book, so even if you just leave a post saying “HI!” you’re entered!
If you’re 18 or over (yes, they’re WAY hot) check out first chapter excerpts of Wolf Tales 10 and Wolf Tales 11
>I almost forgot! I just heard from Danielle, one of the reviewers at Coffee Time Romance, letting me know that Wolf Tales 10 has been given the CTRR (Coffee Time Recommended Read) award.

I get asked all the time where I come up with my story ideas – and my answer is, I have no clue. I don’t think many authors do. They inch into our minds during that time between sleep and wakefulness, they spring boldly into our imaginations when we listen to music, meeting someone can spark an idea, as can a TV show or movie. Ideas come from everywhere and anywhere.
The idea for my May 26 release MOST WANTED, come from you, the reader.
MOST WANTED is a single author anthology with three stories, all of them connected to previous stories of mine from Aphrodisia – and I finally set about writing them because of the reader letters I was getting for more of Lexy and Devon (From The Crib) or more of my paranormal Hunters. As much as I love the characters and the stories, I don’t think I would’ve ever gotten around to actually writing them if it hadn’t been for readers asking for more.
HIDDEN CRAVINGS, the first story in the anthology, is a sequel to THE CRIB from the PURE SEX anthology. It’s the exact same hero and heroine. THE CRIB was my first story for Aphrodisia, and it was released in June 2006, when Aphrodisia was s till a fairly new line. There were plenty of reviews that said it wasn’t an erotic romance because it didn’t have a traditional HEA. I felt it was a happy ending, because that particular story was about Lexy’s personal issues. Issues she had to deal with in order to move on in her life-emotionally. And while it ended on a good note with the characters relationship wise, I can see how readers wanted more, because at the end of THE CRIB, Devon dropped Lexy off at the airport so she could fly back home. It was the right ending for that novella, but yes…there was certainly more tot he story of Lexy and Devon. So I was thrilled to get back to them and pick things up about a year after THE CRIB ends, when Devon shows up on Lexy’s doorstep to ask for her help.
UNRESTRICTED ACCESS is Jackson Barrows story. Jackson is a cop, and his partner was the hero in SEX AS A WEAPON from THE COP anthology. Jack didn’t get much page time in that story because he was recovering from a bullet in the butt. *grin*. Jackson is a typical cop in that he guards his own secrets well…I had no idea that he had such a need to please when I first met him-and neither did his pretty neighbor Jill.
The final story in the anthology is called NO ANGEL, and it ended up being one of my most favorite ever stories. The hero is Gabriel Mann, the work-hard, play-harder younger brother of Caleb Mann from SEXY DEVIL. (and shares some of the characters form PRIMAL MALE also) I have to tell you, when I sat down to write this story I had no idea what it was about aside from the fact that that Anna was a demon hunter, and Gabe, was a bit of a party- hard bad boy. But these two, as soon as I started writing, they had me. I finished the first draft of their story in 2 days. I didn’t even sleep! They hooked me and reeled me in, and completely took over my fingers.
All in all, the book was written with love, and I really hope readers feel that when they pick it up. To all of you who read -Thank you. You have the power to inspire me.

Hi All! Lacy Danes here. A little bit about me…
I signed with A back in October of 2005. My first book WHAT SHE CRAVES released in March of this year. Took along time from sale to release! I have a novella, KISS OF THE DRAGON, in the SEXY BEAST III anthology that releases in September 2007 as well as another single title called ANIMAL LUST that will release in March of 2008.
I write historical, historical paranormal, and contemporary paranormal, erotic romance. Phew… that was a mouth full.
What I love about writing this genre is the attention to the 5 senses. Smell, Sound, Sight, Taste, and Touch.
Watching two lovers make love…seeing their arms and legs shake and quiver as pleasure is sought and captured, feeling that same trembling against your own limbs as you provide that pleasure and seize you own. The smell of your lover, of sex and cunny overwhelming your senses, and the sounds…moaning, whimpering, groans, the sharp intake of breath as sensations overload, skin rubbing and wet wet wet…
It is all amazing, rich, sensual, sexy… Mmmmmm.
That is why I write what I write… I love all those sexy details that flood the pages of erotic romance. Since I started writing this genre, I am much more aware of all those details in life. In ways I feel writing erotic romance has made me appreciate and savor more sensations than I had before I began my journey. Though I was always a bit of a sensation lover! Grin.
Why do you like to read Erotic Romance? Why do you enjoy writing it?
Hugs and Kisses, Lacy.
PS.I am also Blogging over at The Spiced Tea Party today… come on by and say hi!
